3 Super Simple Apps

New Year, new apps - for me, at least.  The theme for these apps is simplicity - sometimes the best things are the ones with the fewest bells and whistles.  Or at least bells and whistles that don't get in the way of me figuring things out.  Here are my latest finds for productivity that are clean, intuitive and most of all, effective:

1.  Feels.  $2.99 on iTunes.  The developer doesn't seem to have a website just yet, but there is a Twitter handle for support:  @trustyourfeels.  Here's the scoop:  plug in a decision or choice that needs to be made, include details about the options (you can even include photos), add factors that influence your decision and then indicate how you "feels" about each.  Feels will assess each factor and give you details and trends about your selections.  This decision-assistance app is incredibly simple, yet helps to pinpoint things that should be obvious to us when we're mulling something over, but so often are not.  As you add information, the screen slowly morphs beautiful colors (which I found to be kind of relaxing, in a weird way).  When you add your "feels" about each factor a little emoticon-like face comes up to indicate the feeling - I especially enjoy the one that shows your stomach tied up in knots.  All in all, easy to use, good for looking at decisions in a different way, and fairly insightful.

2.  Scanner Pro. FREE on iTunes.  http://readdle.com/products/scannerpro/.  I'm a little late to the party on this one, but here's the word straight from iTunes:
"Scanner Pro transforms your iPhone and iPad into portable scanners. It allows you to scan receipts, whiteboards, paper notes, or any multipage document.  Scanned documents can be emailed and printed, uploaded to Dropbox, Google Drive and Evernote, or simply saved on the iPhone/iPad."  I have no clue why I haven't downloaded this one before.  It takes seconds to click and upload, and it's especially helpful when you're out and about.  While I probably wouldn't use it for huge files, I think I've finally found the answer to all of those receipts that clutter up my purse.

3.  Battery Life Pro - All-IN-1.  Free on iTunes for basic, $.99 for no ads.  Have you ever stared at the little battery icon on your phone and wondered if you had enough juice to make a lengthy call?  This app shows you exactly how much battery life is left for most any operating mode on your iPhone, iPod or iPad, and provides lots of good tips for optimizing battery life.  You can customize the monitor panel to show only the things you actually use - for instance, I really don't care how much battery life I have to play 3D games (because I'm boring and I don't play 3D games).  But I do care how much battery life I have left to listen to music when I'm working out.  I can keep the audio icon, and hide the 3D game icon.  It features seven different customizable themes for viewing, and also has a charging log to track charging time.  Super easy to use, and super useful.

What simple, easy apps have you been checking out lately?
