- Lose assignments? - Stay up till midnight (or later) the night before a big deadline? - Have a room that looks like a tornado hit? - Own a backpack that isn't much better? - Get easily distracted when studying?
SkillSet's Student Organizing Services are designed to help families and students overcome struggles with assignments, deadlines, supplies, activities and technology. Organizing sessions are carefully tailored to students' learning and thinking styles and preferences, leading to greater self-reliance, confidence and achievement.
Schools and teachers emphasize the importance of organizational skills, but rarely have the time in a busy day to customize those skills to students' needs. As a mom of two and former educator, Sara understands the challenges that families and individuals face in dealing with the mountains of papers and multiple commitments.
Sara works with families on the following areas:
Creating a personalized, easy-to-maintain study environment
Organizing paperwork, note-taking, supplies and backpacks
Time management and calendaring skills
Balancing school with work, home responsibilities and extra-curricular activities
Challenges such as ADHD, sensory processing, and more
Services are for middle school through college levels (including adult learners), and include:
Initial Comprehensive Assessment - $299.00. The assessment is comprised of
1. Thorough online questionnaire for up to one student and two parents (roughly 30 minutes to complete) 2. In-home visit and observation 3. Complete report and analysis with initial suggestions
